Tug engineer for Svitzer tugs; TARPAN, WONGA, RIVERWIJS GRACE. ASD and tractor tugs. Location Whyalla SA.  Harbour and Transshipment towage.

November 2019 to August 2021

Relief / permanent Chief engineer after handover from permanent engineers who couldn’t work commercially in Australia.  Private and commercial charter up to 200 passengers.

Project Manager to get vessel from out of water mid refit condition to an operational charter status.

 

M.Y. AKIKO. 35M

13th January to 26th March 2017

Delivery / Relief Chief engineer form Melbourne to Fremantle Australia.  Warranty docking consultant. Set up IDEA Planned maintenance program for the entire vessel.

 

M.V. MMA INVESTIGATOR. 54M

March 2007 to November 2016

Chief engineer M.V. MMA Investigator 54M, with MMA Offshore (Formerly Mermaid Marine Australia). DP 1 Offshore multi-purpose utility vessel in the North-West shelf WA, Broome, Darwin oil and gas fields. Singapore docking. Class ABS. 2200 days sea time.

 

M.V. FANTASEA AMMARI. 60M

October 2006 – March 2007

Senior chief engineer. Austal built catamaran. 100 passengers. Delivery from Singapore to Brisbane. 6 Weeks refit Brisbane then operationally based at Shute Harbour QLD. Implemented full planned maintenance program, ISM and operational procedures. Class LR.

 

M.Y. PLAN B. 50M

May 2005 – September 2006

Chief engineer. Same vessel as Flinders with the name changed to Plan B. Refit period at Atlantic Dry Dock, Jacksonville, Florida. Upgrading the vessel to serve in a foreign going oceaneering role. Jet fuel and helicopter systems. Design and set up for a submersible hold to support submersibles and ROV with a depth range of 2000 feet. Generator automation set up. Adapted ISM accordingly. Class LR.

 

M.Y. FLINDERS. 50M

November 2003 – May 2005

Chief engineer. Expedition / exploration yacht. 11 Months build time. Design, commissioning, sea trials and operational at sea - world cruising. Implemented full engineering ISM, maintenance program and operational procedures. Set up OEM alarm monitoring system from concept to class approval. New Zealand, French Polynesia, Costa Rica, Panama, West Caribbean and USA. Class LR.

 

M.Y. BART ROBERTS. 80M

April – August 2003

Chief Engineer. Ex Canadian Coast Guard research and supply ship. Converted into an exploration yacht. Undertaking surveys and audits relevant class, ISM and SOLAS passenger ship safety certification. US only. Class LR.

 

M.Y. AZURE LEISURE. 43M

February 2001 – August 2002

Chief Engineer.  Set up an onboard-computerized operations manual and maintenance system for the vessel and all relevant machinery. Supervised refits at the Palmer Johnson yard in Savannah. Including five-year ABS class survey and completed an MCA survey. Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, Cuba, East coast USA, Greece, Croatia and Italy. Class ABS

Second/ Chief Engineer. Mediterranean, Trans-Atlantic, USA, Bahamas, Caribbean, Panama Canal & Costa Rica. Class LR.

M.V. HERON BAY. 35M

March 1996 – September 1996

Chief Engineer. Sea Swift Mothership. Servicing vessels at sea between Cairns and the Torres Straits Diesel fuel, fresh water, seafood unloads, stores supply and crew changes.

 

Sea Swift

December 1995 – March 1996

Diesel Fitter/ Engineer. Working mainly on the M.V. Heron Bay (35M fisheries Mothership) as Engineer. Working in with other tradesmen, Boilermakers, Electricians, Refrigeration Mechanics etc getting the vessel to a seaworthy standard for the upcoming Mother shipping season. Cairns, Australia.

 

Sea Swift

December. 1992 – December 1995

Apprentice Diesel Fitter. Cairns biggest shipping company, Sea Swift (Engineering dept.) Involved in barge, cargo ship, mother ship and live cattle export ships engineering refit and programmed maintenance. Predominantly diesel engine, gearbox, tune up, troubleshoot and full rebuild. Also; hydraulics, pumps, steering, basic welding and fabrication, electrical and refrigeration / general marine engineering. Completed apprenticeship in Dec. ’95. Cairns, Torres Straits. Australia.

 

Northern Prawn Fishery 1991. Deckhand with steering watch on an Atlantic Fishing vessel, F.V. Alliance and F.V. Khamsin A. (25M) Northern prawn fishery, banana prawn season. Cairns to Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, Australia.

December 1990. Commenced Cadetship with Atlantic Fishing. End of season closure refit. Cairns, Australia.

February 1990 – November 1990. 36-week certificate in marine studies course. Award for consistently high effort in over thirty subjects. Bundaberg Australia.
